Website Maintenance
Ensuring the security of your WordPress website is paramount. Regular updates to the WordPress core, themes, and plugins are essential to patch vulnerabilities and protect your site from potential threats.
A Website Maintenance Package is Recommended
WordPress website maintenance is a crucial aspect of managing a successful online presence. As one of the most popular content management systems (CMS) globally, WordPress powers millions of websites, making it a prime target for hackers and security threats.
Regular maintenance not only enhances security but also offers numerous other benefits that contribute to the overall health and effectiveness of your website.
Maintenance of your WordPress website is not just a technical necessity but a strategic advantage. It safeguards your site, enhances performance, improves user experience, and helps your website remain competitive in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
We currently offer 3 WordPress website maintenance packages, each one varying by the number of sites supported. We also have a custom website maintenance quote for a more specific number of sites requiring maintenance.
Website Maintenance Benefits
Performance
Over time, websites can become sluggish due to accumulated data and inefficient code.
Learn More
Regular maintenance involves updating the WordPress core plus plugins, cleaning up unnecessary files, optimizing images, and fine-tuning databases, which ultimately results in faster loading times and a better user experience.
Cost Savings
Proactive maintenance is often more cost-effective than fixing issues after they occur.
Learn More
Preventing security breaches and performance problems can save you money and time in the long run.
Security
WordPress regularly releases security updates to its core software.
Learn More
These security updates often contain patches that address vulnerabilities discovered since the previous release. By regularly applying these updates, you ensure that your website is protected against known security risks.
WordPress websites rely on plugins and themes to add functionality and design elements. However, poorly coded or outdated plugins and themes can introduce security vulnerabilities. Part of maintenance involves regularly updating these components and removing any that are no longer actively maintained or pose a security risk.
User Experience
A well-maintained website provides a seamless and pleasant user experience.
Learn More
Outdated plugins and slow load times can frustrate visitors, leading to higher bounce rates. Maintaining a user-friendly website encourages engagement and repeat visits.
Reputation
Your website is often the first point of contact with your audience.
Learn More
A well-maintained site conveys professionalism and reliability, bolstering your online reputation.
Compliance
Many websites need to adhere to legal regulations, such as GDPR or ADA compliance.
Learn More
Regular maintenance can help you ensure your website is compliant, avoiding potential legal issues and fines.

Website Maintenance Process
Our well-defined, WordPress website maintenance process prevents bugs or security issues occuring during site updates.
Back Up Website / Create Staging Website
The first task in our website maintenance process is to take a full back up of all the WordPress site files and database.
We then create a staging version of the website to ensure the live site remains untouched during the update/testing process.
Apply Updates to Staging Website
We apply all available updates to the following on the staging website:
- WordPress core.
- WordPress plugins.
- WordPress theme.
Test Changes to Staging Website
Once all updates have been applied on the staging version of the website we then test that everything is working as expected and no bugs have been introduced as a result.
Apply Updates to Live Website
Pending successful testing of the staging website, the same updates are then applied to the live website.
Test Changes to Live Website
We perform testing on the live website after applying the updates to ensure we see the same successful results as on the staging website.
If any discrepencies are found then a roll back of the troublesome plugin, theme or WordPress core will be applied.
Delete Staging Website
Once the changes have been applied to the live website and testing is successful we delete the staging website as it is no longer required.
