Website Migration Phases
Our well-defined, WordPress website migration process ensures a successful transfer to our web hosting service everytime.
Discovery
During this phase we collect the current hosting and domain service details, including access to the accounts so we can perform the required tasks during the Website Migration phase.
Website Migration
During this phase we complete the following tasks:
- Install WordPress onto the new server.
- Back up the database and website files from the previous hosting service.
- Import the database back up into the new database.
- Upload all of the website files onto the new server.
- If required, execute SQL to update any found http records to https.
- Repoint domain name servers if the client has chosen to keep their domain with the current provider.
- Replicate new email accounts on the new server.
- Migrate any emails to each account.
Testing/Signoff
During this phase, the migrated website is tested to ensure it behaves and functions exactly the way it did on the previous hosting service.
